$15 Quilt

A few weeks ago I was up in Floyd with my parents checking out some of the antique shops before heading to the Country Store to see some live bluegrass. In a shop called Finders Keepers, I found this crazy quilt for $15 and I decided to keep it. It’s now on the couch covered by too many pillows that I made. It’s a lot of color and a bit busy, but I like it that way.

Quilting is another thing I haven’t tried yet, but am interested to learn. Someday I’ll give it a shot myself. But for now I’m happy with my $15 quilt. I have another quilt, priceless, my Dad’s mother made it. I’ll save that for another post. We’ve got a guest staying in our guest room now(i.e. my craft room) so I’ll snap some pics later on. This Grandma passed on when I was younger and she lived in Florida so I didn’t see her but maybe once a year. I never knew what a crafty lady she was until recently when my mom gave me a bunch of things she made; a quilt, cross-stitch pieces, crochet squares, etc. It’s too bad I hadn’t learned any of these cool crafts from her. Now I’ll have to figure things out for myself. And hopefully pass them on to my daughter or granddaughter someday.

Here’s a closeup of that quilt and some photos of our day in Floyd.
