My Grandmother’s Quilt
Aug 04
In a previous post about finding a $15 quilt at a nearby vintage shop, I mentioned how I was given a quilt that was made by my paternal Grandmother. Since our house guest has left, with a well earned $328 to buy a kayak, I now have my craft room back! So I was in there to work on something new, but instead decided to take some photos of this quilt to show you all (all 3 of you who probably read my blog).

I love quilts. My gramma loved quilts too, but she couldn’t sew. Honestly, she never had time. She was the breadwinner in her family. And with 5 mouths to feed, that didn’t leave her much time. I’m in the process of cutting out a quilt I’m making my son. It’s going to be a g.i. joe quilt. And I’m saving up my favorite clothes of his and when he turns five, I hope to have enough to make a quilt out of some fussy cuts made from those clothes.
I really love handmade quilts.
And you have an awesome one!
